SOUTH BEND - Buford Freeman, 71, of 615 Goodland Ave., died Friday in his home after an illness. Mr. Freeman retired from AM General Corp. He was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Guntown, Miss., and lived in South Bend since 1952, coming from Cassopolis.

On Aug. 7, 1986, in South Bend, he married Earnestine Farris. She survives with a son, David of Baldwin, Mich.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Flossie Chavis of Cassopolis. He was a veteran of the Army.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Alford's Mortuary. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home.
