Mrs. Wilhelmine Freel, 85, of 955 Sylvan Lane, died at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday at Osteopathic Hospital after a three-week illness. She was born on July 6, 1895, in Secor, Ill., and had lived in South Bend for 57 years after coming from Granger. On Oct. 18, 1916, in Granger, she married Daniel Roy Freel, who died on Sept. 1, 1957. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Geraldine Freel and Mrs. Lorena Simpson, both of South Bend; a son, Paul of South Bend; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Firestone of Mishawaka; and two brothers, Lester and William Seggerman, both of South Bend.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood. Rev. David N. Smeltz, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was a charter member of the Fellowship Baptist Church
