SOUTH BEND - Evelyn R. Foster, 93, of Holy Cross Health and Rehabilitation Center, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in the center. Mrs. Foster retired in 1968 from the U.S. Postal Service, Flossmoor, Ill., as a clerk. She was born Aug 7, 1901, in Peterborough, Ontario and lived in South Bend since 1991.

On June 2, 1924, in Chicago, as Evelyn R. Sims, she married Richard V. Foster. He died in 1965. She is survived by two sons, Richard T. of South Bend and V. Bud of Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private services will [be] Saturday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will be in Homewood (Ill.) Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
