SOUTH BEND - Peter John Focosi, 30, of 2217 Bowman Street, was dead on arrival at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital after a sudden illness. Born on Apr. 30, 1943 in South Bend, Mr. Focosi was a lifetime resident of the city.

On Aug. 12, 1972, in South Bend, he married June M. Underly, who survives. Mr. Focosi was produce manager for the Kroger CO. here where he had been employed since 1966. Surviving in additionto his wife, are his mother Anthony Focosi of South Bend; a daughter, Gina Rose, and step-son Anthony Vincent, both at home; a brother Joseph John, and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Juliann) McHugh of Forest Park, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Donald F. Guertin, CSC, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Focosi was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral.
