Margaret Detwiler

Margaret (Bauters) Detwiler, 85, formerly of 35th Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10:20 p.m. Saturday in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, Ind. Mrs. Detwiler was born on Aug. 9, 1916, in Mishawaka, Ind., as the daughter of the late Oscar and Marie (Gillis) Bauters.

 

On Nov. 30, 1940, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, as Margaret Bauters she married Darwin "PeeWee" Detwiler, who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1986. Margaret was also preceded in death by one son James Richard Detwiler, and two brothers Clarence "Bud" Bauters and Oscar Bauters Jr. Margaret is survived by a daughter, Janice Mynsberge of South Bend; two granddaughters, Robin Marie (Brent) Szynski of Granger and Suzanne Elaine Mynsberge of Milwaukee, Wis.; two great grandsons, Skylar Szynski and Camryn Szynski of Granger; one sister, Henrietta Van Huffel of Mishawaka.

 

Mrs. Detwiler has been a life long area resident. A member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Friends may call on Monday, Aug. 27, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a wake prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial we be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
