SOUTH BEND - Esther G. DeRyckere, 83, passed away at 1:25 pm on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, in her home. Esther was born on November 13, 1926, in Elkhart, to the late Paul and Vincenzia (Bonfiglio) Lepara. She is also preceded in death by a grandchild, Rachel DeRyckere, brothers, Frank and Joseph Lapara, and by her sisters, Mary Lepara, Helen Sellers and Virginia Friedsam. On October 8, 1949, she married Joseph J. DeRyckere. He survives along with their four children, Jode (Tom) Szymarek of North Liberty, IN, Kris (Tom) Sikorski of Greenwood, IN, Sue (Bob) Sellenberg of South Bend, IN, and Andy (Debbie) DeRyckere of Westfield, IN, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Martha Alves of Columbus, OH. The family would like to thank Dr. Volker Blankenstein and Mom's Hospice Team for all their care, kindness, and support. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 27, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 28, 2010, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, South Bend, IN. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
