Clara Mynsberge DeRuyter

Clara Mynsberge DeRuyter, 99, of Pasadena, Texas formerly of Main St., Mishawaka, passed away Saturday May 26, 2001 in the Vista Continuing Care Center Pasadena. Mrs. Mynsberge De Ruyter was born on November 12, 1901 in Hansbeke, Belgium as the daughter of the late Charles and Melanie (Warniers) Van Damme. She is also preceded in death by one son, Albert Mynsberge, and one sister Zelma Bogaert.

I

n July of 1923 in Belgium, Clara married August Mynsberge who passed away on July 18, 1974. Then on October 11, 1979 in Mishawaka she married Rene De Ruyter who passed away on December 4, 1988. She is survived by a daughter Lorraine (Calvin) Mitchell of Deer Park, TX; a daughter-in-law, Margaret "Marge" Mynsberge of South Bend, four grandchildren, Dennis (Linda) Mitchell of Baton Rouge, CA, Karen (Paul) Saphos of Pasadena, TX, Keith (Tina) Mynsberge of Mishawaka and Cindy (Norm) Green of Indianapolis and by six great grandchildren; Ali and Cody Mitchell of Baton Rouge, CA, Jenny and Mitchell Saphos of Pasadena, TX and Kristin and Brandon Mynsberge of Mishawaka. Clara was Co-Owner of Clara & Gus's Tavern on Western Ave. for 24 years before retiring in 1969. She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, the Alter Society and the B K Club.

 

Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Friday June 1 at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral Services will follow immediately at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
