Raymond Dentino

MISHAWAKA – S/Sergt. Raymond Dentino, aged 34, an airborne infantryman, reported last week as missing since Sept. 29, while on a mission over Holland, was killed on that day, the war department has advised his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marco Dentino, of 118 East Stanley Street. Sergt. Dentino was born in Tolusa, Ill. Jan. 13, 1910, was graduated from Mishawaka High with the class of 1929. He entered the army on March 25, 1941, and was sent overseas in April 1943. He took part in the African, Sicilian and Italian campaigns and the invasion of France. He was awarded the good conduct ribbon, the glider pin, the infantry badge and the European theater operations ribbon. He was employed at the Ball Band plant prior to his induction.

 

Besides his parents he is survived by four brothers, Corp. Robert Dentino, who is stationed in England, Angelo, Joseph and George Dentino, and two sisters, Mrs. Erma Swanson and Miss Elizabeth Dentino, all of Mishawaka.
