MISHAWAKA - Octaaf ''Butch'' DeMeyer, 91, of Seventh Street, died at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday in Valley View Healthcare Center, Elkhart. Mr. DeMeyer retired from Cabeline Packing Co., was a former employee of Major's Packing, and was the former owner of DeMeyer & Klein Packing, Wakarusa. He was born Oct. 20, 1903, in Aalter, Belgium, and lived in Mishawaka since 1923.

 

In 1927, he married Lucy Roedts. She died in 1931. On Feb. 16, 1933, he married Jennie Hoffmaster. She survives with a daughter, Alice Klein of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Erma Forcier of Mishawaka. He was a member of BK Club and St. Bavo's Catholic Church.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in Hahn Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m.
