Octave E. DeLaurelle, 76, of Burdette Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a brief illness at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka. He was born on Sept. 1, 1924, in Mishawaka to the late Edmond F. and Celiena (DeBaets) DeLaurelle. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Herman "Lefty" in 1980, Morris in 1971, and Edmond in 1994.

 

He is survived by five nieces, Diane (Don) Haywood, Linda Wojciechowski, and Sara Bonebrake, all of Mishawaka, Nancy (Nat) Baldoni of Springfield, Mo., and Christine Nash of Merton, Wis.; and by a nephew, Edmond F. DeLaurelle of Granger, Ind.

 

Octave was a member of the BK Club and the Eagles Aerie 2083, both in Mishawaka. He was a World War II Army veteran.

 

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
