MISHAWAKA - Edward J. DeLaurelle, 76, of Melville Street, died at 12:55 a.m. today in his home after an illness. Mr. DeLaurelle retired in 1982 from Dodge Division of Reliance Electric Co. after 32 years of service. He was born June 29, 1919, in Mishawaka.
On June 28, 1947, in South Bend, he married Patricia Cortier. She survives with two sons, Thomas of Granger and Bruce of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, Dodge Quarter Century Club, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 155 Auxiliary, and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Cremation will take place, with entombment in Fairview Mausoleum. There will be no visitation. Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or American Lung Association.
