Stephen E. Deka, 95, of West Mishawaka Road, Elkhart, Ind., passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, in Valley View Health Care Center, Elkhart. He was born on Sept. 2, 1907, in South Bend, Ind., to Veronica (Czyzewski) and John Deka, who preceded him in death.

On Nov. 26, 1936, he married Agnes Stachowski, who passed away in 1989. He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Clem, Louis, Al, Clara, Florence, Valarie and Sr. Valentina. He is survived by a daughter, Charlene (Paul) Swihart of Granger, Ind.; a son, Edward (Sandra) Deka of South Bend; and by three grandchildren, Christie Gonzales of Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph Deka of West Lafayette, Ind., and Heather Deka of Indianapolis, Ind. Stephen retired from Studebaker with over 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
