MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Barbara Ellen Deitchley, 86, of 1844 E. Calvert Street, South Bend, died Sunday afternoon in the Williams Nursing Home in South Bend following an illness of 1 ½ years. She was born in Sumption Prairie, near South Bend, on Aug. 17, 1874 and had lived in this area all her life.

As Barbara E. Kline, she married George Deitchley in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. He died March 11, 1949. Surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Carl Trippel of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Milbern K. Mangus of Edwardsburg, Mich.; two sons, Herman Deitchley of Mishawaka, and Francis Deitchley of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, August and Andrew Kline, both of Stephenson, Mich.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home and until the services at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
