SOUTH BEND – Guy DeBlase, 70, of 1214 S. Fellows Street, died at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday in Healthwin Hospital after an extended illness. He was a retired Flack Cigar Co. employee. Born Aug. 1, 1904 in Chicago, he lived here since 1918, coming from Lake Geneva, Wis.

 

Surviving are four brothers, Mike, Sam, Joe and Steve, all of South Bend, and five sisters, Christine DeBlase, Mrs. Katherine Fotia and Mrs. Ann Fotia, all of South Bend; Santina DeBlase of Dowagaic, and Mary DeBlase of Providence, R.I.

 

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Matthew Catholic Cathedral. Most Rev. Joseph R. Crowley DD, rector, will officiate. Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum. He was a member of St. Matthew’s and a World War II Army veteran. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
