SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE –

 

MRS. ERMA DeBAETS

November 22, 1890 –

 

Mrs. Erma DeBaets, 88, formerly of 1006 N. Brookfield, died at 10:45pm Wednesday in the Paul Stephen Nursing Home, Niles, after a lengthy illness.

 

She was born on November 22, 1890, in Bellem, Belgium, and had lived in South Bend most of her life.  On May 2, 1911, in South Bend, she married Joseph DeBaets, who died on July 22, 1961. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Florence Pinter of South Bend; two sons, Henry and Joseph, both of South Bend; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

 

Services will be at 10am Saturday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Rev. Walter Bly, associate pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. 

 

Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Friday in the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30pm Friday.  She was a member of the Corpus Christi Altar & Rosary Society and the Volksring Club.
