SOUTH BEND – Ann I Deak, 75, of West Ewing Street, died Sunday in St Joseph’s Medical Center.  Survivors include her husband, Frank M, three sons, Frank of DeWitt MI, Arthur of South Bend and David of Granger; two sisters, Mary Niezgodski and Irene Niedosik, both of South Bend, and four brothers, Joseph, Emery, Vincent and Francis “Toby” Nagy, all of South Bend.

 

Services will be at 10am Wednesday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church.  Friends may call form 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Tuesday in Zahoran Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 3pm.

Ann I. Deak, 75, of West Ewing Avenue, South Bend IN, passed away at 12:45 pm on Sunday, April 20, in St Joseph Medical Center.  She had been employed by the Huddle at Notre Dame and at the Sheriffs Department and retired from Robertson’s Department Store after 20 years of service.

 

Mrs. Deak was born on March 13, 1922, in South Bend.  On September 2, 1939, in South Bend, as the former Ann Nagy, she married Frank M. Deak, who survives.

 

She is also survived by three sons, Frank (Liz) Deak of DeWitt MI, Arthur (Esther) Deak of South Bend and David (Kathryn) Deak of Granger IN; 11 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Niezgodski and Irene Niedosik, both of South Bend; and by four brothers, Joseph Nagy, Emery Nagy, Vincent Nagy and Francis (Toby) Nagy, all of South Bend.

 

Mrs. Deak was a member of the St Ann Society and the PTS at Our Lady of Hungary Church.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a rosary will be recited at 3pm by the St Ann Society of Our Lady of Hungary Church.

 

Services will be at 10am on Wednesday at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, with Rev. Paul McCarthy officiating.  Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Hungary Church Repair Fund.
