Paul R. Cenkush, 86, of Portage Road in South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:14 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, in his residence. Mr. Cenkush was born on Sept. 28, 1912, in South Bend, to the late Richard H. and Edith (Schultz) Cenkush and has lived in this community all of his life. He retired in 1977 from Bendix Corp. where he served for 37 years.
On May 27, 1936, in South Bend, he married Catherine J. Price.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Catherine; a daughter, Lynne Ann Ward of Estes Park. Colo.; a son, Patrick Allen Cenkush of Mishawaka, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Mr. Cenkush was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, South Bend, where a funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4., Rev. Camillo Tirabassi will officiate.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
