SOUTH BEND - Graveside services for James Cauffman, 76, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of South Bend, who died Wednesday morning in Zephyrhills Nursing Home, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.

Mr. Cauffman had been a machine shop foreman for Acme Wellpoint, Plant City, Fla. He was born March 15, 1919, in Elkhart and lived in South Bend until 1974, when he moved to Florida.

On Feb. 15, 1941, in South Bend, he married Rosemary Bauer. She survives with three daughters, Patricia Lue Cauffman of South Bend, Carolyn M. Quaintance of Plant City and Betty Ann Schafer of Granger; a son, James F. of South Bend; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Babbs of South Bend; and a brother, Charles L. of Lake Toxaway, N.C. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Zephyrhills, and a former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
