NEW CARLISLE - Edna I. Casaday, 97 of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away, Friday, October 3, 2008, at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle. Edna was born January 4, 1911, in New Castle, Indiana to Jerry and Ida (Wiles) Adams. Edna was employed with the former Bendix Corporation during World War II, as a blueprint reader. She had also been employed with Olive Township Elementary School and was a beautician with Mirror Beauty Salon in New Carlisle. On April 24, 1943, Edna married George B. Casaday, who preceded her in death on March 28, 1994. Her daughter, Jean Gilpin also preceded her in death on July 29, 2007. Surviving are her sons, George B. (Cynthia) Casaday Jr. of Maynard, Massachusetts, Michael "Larry" (Marcie) Casaday of Sacramento, California; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Edna was a member of TOPS in New Carlisle and a Charter member of the New Carlisle Historical Society.

 

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by, Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana.
