Stella Marie Carter

Stella Marie Carter, 80, dear mother and sister, of North Olive Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:43 a.m. on Sun-day, Jan. 4, at Hospice House of St. Joseph County. In Danville, Ill., on August 6, 1917, she was born to the union of John and Bessie Carter. Coming from Chicago, Ill., she had resided in South Bend since 1966.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Genise Carter of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Lillie Mae Carter, and a brother, James Carter, both of South Bend; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. After twenty-five years of service, Mrs. Carter retired from Wheel Horse Products in 1991. She was also a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial following in Danville, Ill. Friends may call at the church one-half hour prior to service. Alford's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
