Catherine E. Carrico, 81, residing on West Douglas Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 1 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, in her home.

 

Mrs. Carrico was born on Aug. 18, 1917, in Loretto, Ky., to the late Lucille (Ryan) and Herbert Hayden, and had lived in this community most of her life.

 

On Dec. 14, 1943, in South Bend, Ind., she married John E. Carrico, Sr., who passed away on March 28, 1985. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert K. Carrico on Nov. 21, 1981.

 

Mrs. Carrico is survived by two daughters, Barbara Blair and Sharon Loeffler, both of Mishawaka; six sons, John E. Carrico, Jr., and Daniel Carrico, both of Mishawaka, Joseph Carrico, William Carrico and David Carrico, all of South Bend, and Thomas Carrico of Osceola, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Carrico of South Bend; 29 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Laurine Peterson and Mary Ann Wilson, both of Louisville, Ky., and Joyce Caldwell of Calvary, Ky.; and by a brother, James T. Hayden of South Bend.

 

Mrs. Carrico retired as a resident instructor from Corvilla, Inc., and was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, in Little Flower Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, where a parish wake service will be at 3:30 p.m.
