Sister Mnary Lucia CSC, 82, of St.
Mary’s Convent died there Sunday morning. She was born May
9, 1890 in San Antonio, Tex. and as Josefina Cardenas,
entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross July 11, 1915, coming from
Saltilla, Coahuila, Mexico. She made her profession of vows on
Dec. 10, 1917. She taught Spanish at St. Mary’s College from
1918 to 1969. She had resided at St. Mary’s Convent since
her retirement in 1969.
Friends may call until time of services
Tuesday in the conventparlors. Services will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of
Peace Cemetery on the campus.
