SOUTH BEND - Domingo Cantu, 87, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 5:54 p.m. in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Domingo was born on April 10, 1921 in Seguin, TX to the late Tomas and Paulina (Munoz) Cantu. He is survived by his brother, Lucio (Juanita) Cantu of South Bend; a nephew, Oscar Cantu of South Bend, nine nieces, Adelaida Shefbuch, Hortencia Sandoval, Diana Ortiz, Paulina Gundeck, Estella Sosa, Sylvia Guevara, Rose Lynn Corr, Rose Mary Heckaman, and Luisa Thacker, all of South Bend; 31 great nieces and nephews; and 12 great-great nieces and nephews. Domingo retired from Steel Warehouse after 19 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing carnival games and traveling.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2008, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
