Rev. Dominic J. Cannon CSC, professor of physics, died on his 60th birthday in the community house on the University of Notre Dame campus Thursday night. He had been in failing health due to cardiac trouble for about eight years, but had been teaching one class until the time of his death in Holy Cross Seminary on the campus. Born in Scranton, Pa. May 4, 1879, he received the cassock at Notre Dame on July 3, 1904, and two years later made his religious vows. Ordination followed Dec. 18, 1913. As professor of physics, he had shared his time between Portland University in Oregon, and the University of Notre Dame.

 

Services will be held at 8 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Church on the campus with burial in Notre Dame Community Cemetery. The body will lie in state in the community house chapel Sunday.
