Dante G. Canarecci, 77, of North Byrkit Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in St. Joseph Med-ical Center, South Bend, Ind.
Mr. Canarecci was born on Aug. 4, 1921, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Frank and Marcellina (Mordenti) Canarecci. He was a lifetime area resident.
On April 3, 1948, in South Bend, he married the former Thelma Sage.
Mr. Canarecci is survived by his wife of fifty years, Thelma; a daughter, Laura (Mike) Addison of Mishawaka; two sons, Jim (Mary) Canarecci of Lafayette, Ind., and Thomas (Kathleen) Canarecci of Edwardsburg, Mich.; and by eight grandchildren, Tami Addison; Brad Addison, Katie Canarecci, Angie Canarecci, Chrissy Huber, Jill Canarecci, Ben Canarecci and Andrew Canarecci.
Mr. Canarecci was a lifetime member of DeAmici's Club, Mishawaka. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. Mr. Canarecci was employed by Bendix for 42 years from which he retired in 1983.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Rev. Daniel Motto of First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, will officiate. Rev Jeff Reise of Edwardsburg will assist. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
