SOUTH BEND - June Ellen Calvert-Penrod, 72, passed away
after an illness on Saturday, June 7, 2008, in Memorial Hospital,
South Bend. June was born on November 15, 1935, in South Bend, as
the daughter of the late Jean and Bess (Cox) Lane.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles
Ray Calvert on May 2, 1988; a son, Tim Calvert on January
20, 2004; a daughter, Janet Lynn Calvert on May 15, 1962; two
sisters, Mary Jean Pavelsak and Merrice Joyce Kelly;
and two brothers, Joseph Michael Lane and Jeffery Lane.
On November 29, 1958, in Osceola, as June
Lane, she married Charles Ray Calvert. June was employed at the
REVCO Pharmacy in South Bend for 10 years. She was a lifelong
area resident. June is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Jeff) Roberts
of Osceola; granddaughter, Jennifer Calvert of South Bend; a
daughter-in-law, Rhonda Calvert of South Bend; five sisters, Joan
Kathleen (Jack) Kalus of South Bend, Julia Ann Gannon
of Downers Grove, IL, Janet Lynne Leggett of Florida,
Margaret Jane Kotoski of South Bend and Jewell Kay
"Cookie" (Randy) Hoffman of South Bend; and by
four brothers, John Lane of Chicago, IL, Jerry Lane of Elkhart,
Gordon (Faye) Lane of Florida and James Lane of South Bend.
Friends may call today, June 10th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Ed Vegh of New Life Center, South Bend, officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
