22, 1961 - Dec. 10, 2009MISHAWAKA - Scott A. Calhoon, 48, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack in his home on Thursday, December 10, 2009. He was born on August 22, 1961, to Gordon and Merle (Haring) Calhoon in Lafayette, IN. Scott had lived in the Michiana area most of his life, coming from Lafayette, IN. He was employed by Dish Network, where he had worked as a technician, for the last five years. Prior to working at Dish Network, he was employed by the Phoenix Bar & Grill in Mishawaka, IN, where he worked as a cook. Scott is survived by his mother, Merle (Alan) Ovre of South Bend, IN; his father, Gordon Calhoon of California; one daughter, Courtney (Alan Reeves) Calhoon of South Bend, IN; two sons, Tyee and Quinn Calhoon, both of Mishawaka, IN; one step-daughter, Chani Whetstone of Mishawaka, IN; one granddaughter, Cadence Reeves of South Bend, IN; one sister, Kimberly (Brian Vogt) Calhoon of Knox, IN; three step-sisters, Mary (Tracy) Krause of Buchanan, MI, Jennifer Frazier of Niles, MI, and Amy (Lee) Davis of Niles, MI. Mr. Calhoon was a member of The Loyal Order of Moose Mishawaka Lodge #1262. He enjoyed spending time with his children and was a hard worker. Scott loved being with his brand new granddaughter, Cadence. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009, in Lydick United Methodist Church, 26510 Edison Road, South Bend, IN, with Pastor Jim Toole officiating.
