SOUTH BEND - Alva H. Cain, Sr., 86, of South Bend, IN, died unexpectedly of natural causes Monday, February 8th in Astor, Florida. He was born, March 6th, 1923 in Clarion, Iowa to Linville Everett and Parthena (Anderson) Cain. He honorably served in the US Army during WW II. He is survived by his wife, Joan Cain. Children, Alva H. (Bert) Cain Jr. of Fort Wayne, IN, Mary (Mickey) Dutoi of Osceola, IN. Michael Cain of Niles, MI, Janice (Ron) Lovel of Ishpeming, MI. Victoria (Vickey) McCrory of Niles, MI and Bob (Sherri) Cain of Orlando, FL and Honary Daughter Julie Dembinski of South Bend IN. Step-Children, Randy (Joanne) Butz, Cape Coral, FL., Bobbi (Brian) Forray, Mishawaka, IN., Steve (Angie) Butz, Elkhart, IN, Jon (Debbie) Butz of Mishawaka, IN, and Jacque (Dewight) Finn of South Bend, IN. along with 40 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. Two sisters, Beth Quick of Foley, Alabama and Alice Nelson of Buchanan, MI., Sisters in law, Mabelle Longenecker, Wichita Falls, Tx., Darleen Cain, Edwardsburg, MI, Iris Cain, Edwardburg, MI. He was preceded in death by his daughter Carol Jo Burger, Sons in law, Ronald Burger and Donald Dutoi, Sister Elsa West, Brothers, Harvey Dean, Randall, Raymond, Donald, Nelson and Melvin Cain. His former wife and mother of his children Mary (Aggie) Cain and in laws, Florian and Mabel McGraw. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13th in Astor, FL. and one will be scheduled this spring in South Bend, IN. Condolences may be left for the family at: southbendtribune.com/obits
