Cynthia Virginia Butcher, 73, of Fairington Circle, South Bend, Ind., died after an extended illness at 1:20 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka, Ind. She was born on Feb. 18, 1927, in Big Creek, W.Va., to the late Mattie (Ellis) and Tott Butcher.

 

Cynthia is survived by a son, Victor Allen (Susan) Butcher of South Bend; six grandchildren, Shane Reaume of Osceola, Ind., Steven Butcher of Fort Wayne, Ind., Christopher Butcher of Osceola, Azure Baumgartner of South Bend, Wesley Butcher of South Bend and Maury Butcher of South Bend; a great-grandson, Dominic Reaume; and by five sisters, Nellie Mulkey of Orlando, Fla., Bayon Varney of Gasaway, W.Va., Luna Butcher of Orlando, Lyon Wysong of Elkhart, Ind., and Bonnie Crim of Wheatfield, Ind. Cynthia was a cashier and waitress at Bonnie Doon's for many years.

 

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. today, Nov. 1, in Welsheimer's Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place, with burial at a later date in New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, Ind. The family has requested that memorial contributions in Cynthia's honor be made to the charity of donor's choice.
