Grant E. Burts

1917 – December 24, 1961

Grant E. Burts Jr., 1129 S Franklin St., died at 11am Sunday in St Joseph’s Hospital after a week’s illness.

He was born in Gary in 1917 and came to South Bend from there in 1942.  In 1943, he married Rita Nelson, who survives.  Mrs. Burts was a former employee of the Studebaker Packard Corp.

Also surviving are three brothers, Paul of South Bend, Charles of Gary and Samuel of Dallas TX, and three sisters, Mrs. Nora Colquietta, Mrs. Mattie Gaston and Mrs. Almeda Jones, all of Gary.  The Woolridge Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
