William E. Burnett

William E. Burnett, 76 years old, residing on Elm Road, Mishawaka, passed away at 3:10 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2001, at the St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka. Mr. Burnett was born on July 30, 1925, in Jasonville, IN, to the late Ray and Mabel (Robinson) Burnett, Sr. He has been a lifelong area resident. Mr. Burnett worked at the Studebaker Corporation and retired from Michiana Wholesaler's in accounting. He was a graduate of Lakeville High School.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Sara Ann VanScoyt and Anna Wimberly; and by two daughters, Rebecca M. Smitt and an infant daughter, Janet Marie Burnett; and by a sister, Melvena.

Mr. Burnett is survived by two sons, David Burnett of Mishawaka and Michael Burnett of Hollywood, CA; six grandchildren; one sister, Helen Hensley of North Liberty; and one brother, Ray Burnett, Jr. of South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 29, 2001, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Ed Erksin, pastor of Northway Church of Christ, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 2 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 28th, at the Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Contributions in memory of William E.
