Beatrice Townsend Burks

February 7, 1910 – May 13, 1988

Services for Beatrice Townsend Burks, 78, of 134 E Ohio St., who died at 8am Friday in her home, are incomplete at Clark’s Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

She was born on February 7, 1910, in Choctaw MS.  She lived in South Bend since January 13, 1945, coming from Ruleville MS.  On December 20, 1926, in Sunflower Co MS, she married Willie D. Burks, who died on March 14, 1977.  Surviving are three daughters, Claudia Burks of South Bend, Willia Busch of Beloit WI and Rosie L Walker of Decatur GA; four sons, Willie of South Bend, Harris and Gregory, both of Decatur GA and Clarence of Garland TX; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Perry B. Townsend of Ruleville MS.
