Alfred R. Burke, 74, of Eastgate Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. He was born in South Bend on Nov. 5, 1925, to the late Owen and Muriel Burke. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Burke in 1998.

 

He had lived in this area all of his life. Alfred retired from Ardmore Poultry and had worked the last few years at Lethal Arts in Mishawaka. He was a member of the Battell Seniors.

 

Mr. Burke married the former Helen Linderman in Mishawaka on March 22, 1947. She survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Dianna F. Burke and Linda (Bob) Johnson, both of Mishawaka; a grandson, Brian Johnson of Mishawaka; two sisters, Mary Wyatt of California and Alice McQueary of South Bend; and by three brothers, Robert Burke of South Bend, and Bob Morin and Larry Morin, both of Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
