MISHAWAKA - Julia Marie Bupp, 94, passed away on Wednesday, June 22 in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation in South Bend. Julia was born on February 21, 1917 in Mishawaka to Ugo and Adeline (Allessi) Giacomini. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Wayne Bupp at birth; a sister, Anita Ransberger; a brother Raephel Giacomini; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Bupp; sister-in-law, Frances Giacomini and a brother-in-law, Alfred "Butch" Verbeke. On July 2, 1938 in Mishawaka, as the former Julia Giacomini she married Herbert C. Bupp who preceded her in death on January 17, 1985. Surviving are a daughter, Cathy Lambert of Leesburg, FL; a son, James Bupp of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Matthew (Lisa) and John Lambert and David (Flora) Bupp; five great grandchildren, Daniella, Jason and Taylor Bupp and Meghan and Luke Lambert; a sister Dolores Verbeke of Mishawaka and a brother, Guerino Giacomini of Mishawaka. Julia was the owner and operator of Julie's Beauty Shop for 14 years and she also worked in the Cafeteria at Emmons School for 17 years before she retired in 1965. She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church and the Women Sodality at the church. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, June 26 from 2 to 6 p.m., with wake prayers at 2:30 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church and School, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
