Sister M. Millicent Bunzell CSC, 84, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died there at 1:39 p.m. Sunday after as illness. Sister Millicent was born Aug. 25, 1902 in Oglesby , Ill. as Selma Bunzell. She is survived by a sister Eleanor Meinardus.

 

She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Dec. 31, 1928; was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1929; and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1931. She was assigned to teaching in elementary schools and served as principal as well as teacher in many assignments. She served at Holy Cross School in South Bend from 1934 to 1960. Other assignments in Indiana were in Anderson, Elkhart, Logansport and Michigan City. She also served in Illinois in Peoria, Chicago, Morris Woodstock and Evergreen Park.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary'’. Friends may call today and until services Tuesday in the convent where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. today.
