2, 1923 - July 13, 2010MISHAWAKA - Edith Ione Buck, 87, of Mishawaka, died on Tuesday July 13, 2010 in Courtyard Healthcare Center in Goshen, Indiana. She was born on April 2, 1923 to Alva and Carrie B. (Hines) Streby in Auburn, Indiana. Edith married Calvin F. Buck on July 7, 1967. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1985. Mrs. Buck had four siblings, all of whom have preceded her in death, Anna Jefferies of Kendallville, Lloyd G. Streby of Toledo, Ward A. Streby of Kendallville and Carna Streby of Noble County. Although she never had any children of her own, she dearly loved her eleven nieces and nephews and their families. Edith always loved animals, especially her dog "Scooter" and her cat "Patches". She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka as a Nurse's Assistant for seventeen years along with her dearest friend, Laura Alwine of Mishawaka. Edith was a member of United Pentecostal Church in South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday July 19, 2010 in Bubb Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Mendenhall officiating.
