Arthur R. Bryson

May 23, 1898 – April 11, 1975

Arthur R. Bryson, 76, of 221 N. Rue De La Paix, died at 2am today in Memorial Hospital after a year’s illness.  He was formerly the claims branch manager of American States Insurance Co.

Born May 23, 1898, in Potsdam NY, he had lived here since 1936, coming from Columbus OH.  On September 9, 1922, in Minneapolis, he married Harriet Hutchinson, who survives.  He also is survived by three nieces.

Services will be at 11am Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William.  Rev. Eugene R. Balsley, DD, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, and Rev. Kenneth R Hemphill, a retired United Methodist minister, will officiate.  Interment will be in Riverview Mausoleum.

Friends may call form 2 to 4and 7 to 9pm Sunday in the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Teen, Inc., 724 W. Washington.  A veteran of WW I, Bryson was a past president of the South Bend Garden Club.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Mizpah class Portage Lodge, 675 F & AM, of which he was a past past-master; Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend, Orak Temple of Hammond and the South Bend Adjusters Association.
