MISHAWAKA - Sister M. Walburgunda, OSF, 89, of Our Lady of the Angels, St. Francis Convent, died at 4 p.m. Friday at the convent. She performed domestic duties in Indiana and Michigan. She was born Jan. 2, 1907, in Werpe, Germany, as Maria Brunert.

She entered the convent in Olpe, Germany, on Oct. 21, 1931, and received her Franciscan habit on Oct. 15, 1932. She came to the United States on Nov. 9, 1934, and to Mishawaka in 1975, retiring to Our Lady of the Angels. Surviving is a brother, Fritz Brunert of Germany.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Convent Chapel. Burial will be in St. Francis Convent Cemetery. A wake service will be Monday at 7 p.m. in the convent chapel. Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
