Margaret A. Bickel

July 16, 1903 - March 27, 2000

Margaret A. "Peg" (Monthi) Bickel, 96, of the Park Village Health Care Center, Dover, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 27.

She was born on July 16, 1903, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Herman and Rose Garloff Monthi. In her infancy her parents moved to South Bend, Ind. She spent her entire life in South Bend, and attended St. Paul's Lutheran School. At 16 she was employed by Oliver's Farm Equipment in the office, and retired after working there for 45 years. On Sept. 6, 1928, she was married to Bernard Jay Bickel of Mishawaka, Ind. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1985. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold; a sister, Rosalie Busch; and by a nephew, Robert Alan Little.

In 1992 she moved to Dover, Ohio, to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Charles (Irene) Little.

She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church all her life, and belonged to many organizations there. In Dover she attended the Grace Lutheran Church. She also belonged to the Regina Study Club and LCBA of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dover.

She is survived by her sister, Irene; nephews, Paul Dean Busch of South Bend, Charles (Jean) Little of Fort Worth, Texas, Michael (Karen) Little of Columbiana, Ohio, and David (Brenda) Little of Dover; a niece, Rosemary (David) Deioma of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and by many great-nephews and great-nieces.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 31, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.

Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home.
