Esther Bickel, 87, LaPorte, died Friday (Dec. 19, 2003) at Countryside Nusrsing Home in LaPorte.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Carlisle Funeral Home. With Rev. John Hall of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs Bickel was born Feb. 19, 1916 in Winchendon, Mass. To Arthur E. and Vera M. (White) Priest. She married Harold Bruhler, who preceded her in death. On April 25, 1959 in Michigan City, she Married Robert E. Bickel, who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2000. Survivors include three nephews, Randy Downs, San Pierre, Ind., Tim (Susan) Downs, Monticello, Ind., and Brett (Thereesa) Downs, Westville; and one sister, Dorothy J. Miller, Michigan City.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Morell.
Mrs. Bickel was an inspector with Jaymar Ruby for 47 years and was a former member of Women of the Moose 980, Michigan City.
