South Bend - Edward I. Bickel, aged 55, of 2309 East Mishawaka Avenue, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in his home after several months illness with a heart ailment. He was born in Angola, Ind., Aug. 5, 1884, and came here 20 years ago.

He married in 1919 to Hazel Linn, who survives. He was in the sheet metal and furnace business. Surviving also are a daughter, Mrs. Elton Field, Toledo, O.; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Harold Gardner, Kendallville, Ind.

Friends will be received in the Earl C. Hollis Chapel tonight and the funeral will take place in River Park Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Van W. Hinckley, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Palestine, Ind.
