Anna Bernas

July 5, 1928 – April 5, 1993

Anna Bernas, 64, of Sandia Park NM, formerly of South Bend, died Monday in her home after an illness.  Mrs. Bernas retired in 1991 from Michiana Community Hospital.

She was born July 5, 1928, in South Bend and lived in South Bend until 1991.  Her husband, Edward J. Bernas, died in 1964.  She is survived by two daughters, Gayle Bernas and Jill Bernas, both of Sandia Park; a son, Edward J of Sandia Park; two grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie Lewandowski of South Bend.  She was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church.

Services will be at 9am Monday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church.  Cremation has taken place.  Graveside services will be at 10:30am Monday in the chapel of Highland Cemetery.

French Mortuary, Sandia Park, is in charge of arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St Joseph County Humane Society.
