Harvey Berkey

November 10, 1889 – May 24, 1978

Harvey Berkey, 88, of 657 Klinger, died at 8:55pm Wednesday in Healthwin Hospital. He was ill a short time.

He was born on November 10, 1889, in Lewisburg KS, and lived here seven years, coming from California.  On June 24, 1920, in Los Angeles, he married Maude Andrews.  She preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Szerencse of South Bend; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Fred, of Belleville IL, and a sister, Mrs. Lois Brewster of Portland OR.

He was retired from Minneapolis (MN) Gas Co, where he was an electrical engineer.  He was a WW I veteran.  The body was taken to the Indiana State Anatomical Board.  Arrangements are being made by the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan.  A memorial service will take place at a later date.
