SOUTH BEND - George Russell Bergman, 71, of Healthwin Hospital and Nursing Home, died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the nursing home. Mr. Bergman was born Nov. 8, 1922, in South Bend.

He is survived by four nieces, Linda Ford of Key Largo, Fla., Kathleen Smith of Ridgecrest, Calif., Donna Sulentic of North Liberty, and Michelle Cytacki of Spring, Texas. He was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1167, and was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call one hour before services Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
