Lowell R. Berg, 73, of Farnsworth Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness on April 15 at 1:20 A.M. in St. Joseph Community Hospital Mishawaka, Ind. Mr. Berg was born on April 19, 1926 in Portland, Oregon as the son of the late Earl J. and Cora M. (Larson) Berg.

 

On August 11, 1951 in Seattle, Washington, Lowell married the former Sheila Kendall. She preceded him in death on April 13, 1985. On January 3, 1986 he married Trevie Emery. She also preceded him in death on May 25, 1988. He is survived by two sons, Jeff (Cindy) Berg and Kendall Berg of South Bend; two Step sons, Mark Emery of California & Joel Emery of Granger, Ind.; two grandsons and 3 step grandchildren; one sister, Donna Fox of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one brother, Blaine C. Berg of Anchorage, Alaska.

 

Lowell retired in 1992 from Cresent Electric in South Bend as an electrical engineer after 24 years. Mr. Berg was member of Mishawaka-South Bend KiwanisClub, and was the former Lt. Governor of Indiana district of Kiwanis, a member of Michiana Male chorus, a member of St. Michaels & All Angels Church in South Bend, and was a Volunteer for the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend.

 

Memorial Services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, in St. Michaelís & All Angels Episcopal Church, 53720 N. Ironwood, South Bend, with the Rev. Mary Kate Schroeder officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Tuesday in the Church. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637 or the Kiwanis Club. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th St., Mishawaka is handling arrangements.
