Abraham Jacob ''Jim'' Berger, 82, of Homewood Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, in his residence. Jim was born in Madison Township on Nov. 5, 1915, to the late Jacob and Lena Berger.

 

In June 1955 Jim married Ellen Rogers in Mishawaka. She also preceded him in death on May 31, 1970. Jim is survived by two stepdaughters, Carol Cranny and Rita Cranny, both of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Danielle, Cathleen and Matthew; and by a great-grandchild, Erin. Jim also had four sisters, Katherine Briggs, Anna Alexander, both of Mishawaka, Laura Zeiger of Bremen, Ind., and Margaret Massow of Franklin, Ind. Jim retired from Verkler Construction in 1980 as a supervisor, working there for 36 years.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, with Rev. Dale Speckman and Steve Nani officiating. Burial will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
