SOUTH BEND - Nancy E. Beeman, 81, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Thursday, September 24, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was born on September 4, 1928, in Waukegan, IL, to the late J. Eleanor (Tyler) and Albert Zeitler. Nancy was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Kline and a brother, Jon Zeitler. On May 6, 1950, in South Bend, as Nancy E. Zeitler she married Duane A. Beeman who survives. Nancy and Duane shared 59 years of tender companionship. Nancy is also survived by four daughters, Susan Jacob of Griffin, GA, Jean (Stephen) Glowacki of Loveland, CO, Sandy (Tom Barron) Beeman of Chapel Hill, NC, Judy (Lester) Janes of Palatine, IL; a son, Timothy (Katrina) Beeman of Berrien Springs, MI; 12 grandchildren, Sally (Josh) Messner, Eric Jacob, Kelly Jacob, Nicole (Jason) Beeman-Cadwallader, Brenna Beeman, Shannon Parker, Ty Parker, Emily (Brett) Beerer, Johanna Barron, Eliot Barron, Emily Janes and Spencer Janes; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Beeman, Raco Beerer and Amelia Beerer; a sister, Joan DeWachter of Topsham, ME and two sisters-in-law, Martha Zeitler of Cherryville, NC and Marjorie Herrschop of Granger, IN. Nancy retired in April 1991, after 24 years of service as a draftsman from I & M Electric. She was a lifetime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, South Bend, was a 50 year member of St. Joseph Order of Eastern Star, and was a 1946 graduate of South Bend Central High School. Nancy enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening, but above all, sharing her love as a wife, mother and grandmother. Memorial services for Nancy will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 27, in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1501 Cleveland Road, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Welsheimer Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1501 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46628.
