Charles J. Beehler

MISHAWAKA - Charles J. Beehler, 83, of 850 Lincoln Way East, owner and operator of the former Consumers Ice and Coal Co., in Mishawaka for over 35 years, died in his home today. He had been in ill health for six months. He was born in Mishawaka on Sept. 25, 1892. He lived here all his life.

 

He married Mayme Gooley on Nov. 25, 1917 in Elkhart. She died on Jan. 20 of this year. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leon Kelley of New Carlisle and Mrs. Myrna K. Spriggs, with whom he lived; five  grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Ella Hahn and Mrs. Minnie Linsenmier of Mishawaka and Mrs. Clara Crofoot of Elkhart.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was an honorary member of the Mishawaka Fraternal  Orer of Police.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Bubb Chapel for Charles J. Beehler 83, who died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in his home. Rev. Dwayne Dollgener, pastor of St. Andrew’s United Church of Christ, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
