GRANGER - He was born March 28, 1952, in Bruchweiler, Germany. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Margit; daughter, Mareike; mother, Marianne; sister, Sonja (Sigurd); mother-in-law, Christine, and father-in-law, Albert. He was preceded in death by his father, Guenter. He was employed by Robert Bosch, LLC, as a Senior Programmer Analyst where he was extremely well-liked for his ability to solve complex programming and business warehouse challenges. He was always on the quest for knowledge and new experiences, and believed in lifelong learning. Charlie was an avid bicyclist, most recently touring the Blue Ridge Mountains. He participated in the "Michiana Bike to Work" for the Bosch Brakeaways, and enjoyed bike tours of our local area. He fulfilled a lifelong dream - living and working in America. He enjoyed his time in America with his wife; he met many wonderful people and saw many interesting sights. He liked great conversation and always had a good story (or two) to tell. His hobbies included American history and chess. Quoting the famous last words of his favorite American history character, Stonewall Jackson, "Let us cross over the river, and rest under the shade of the trees." Charlie will be greatly missed by his family, friends and coworkers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the National Parks Conservation Association, 1300 19th Street, N.W., Suite 300, Washington, DC 20036, 1-800-628-7275.
