MISHAWAKA - Wilfred J. Avery, 75, of 56149 Hoover Ave., died about 10:30 a.m. Saturday in his home. Mr. Avery retired in 1978 from Bendix Corp., South Bend, in the energy control division after 32 years of service. He was born April 16, 1920, in South Bend.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Klatt and Kathy Klinger, both of Mishawaka; four sons, Thomas, William, Daniel and Gary, all of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Avery of Fort Wayne; and four brothers, Francis of Mishawaka, Richard of Bradenton, Fla., John of Osceola and Joseph of Granger. A grandchild preceded him in death. He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Warner Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Editor: In St. Joseph County IN he married Lois Sones on 9-22-1943. He is the son of Ross B. Avery and Ruth Hickey.
